CLAT has 0.25 negative marking.
State domicile quotas also apply during counseling.
Important Note on Predictor Accuracy
This predictor uses historical data from the 120-mark pattern. Actual ranks depend heavily on paper difficulty:
- •Easy Paper (e.g., CLAT 2024): Cutoffs skyrocket. A score of 95 might barely fetch a Top 5 NLU.
- •Hard Paper (e.g., CLAT 2020 logic): Cutoffs drop. A score of 80 could secure a Top 3 NLU.
Is this based on the new 120-mark pattern?
Yes. Starting from CLAT 2024, the Consortium of NLUs reduced the total number of questions from 150 to 120. This calculator's predictive logic uses the cutoffs and rank distributions from the 120-mark exams.
What is a good score for NLSIU Bangalore?
For General category candidates, a score of 98+ (Top 100 rank) is typically required for NLSIU Bangalore. For reserved categories, the cutoff score drops significantly.
Does CLAT cover NLU Delhi?
No. NLU Delhi conducts its own separate entrance exam called AILET (All India Law Entrance Test). CLAT scores are used by all other 24 participating National Law Universities.
What if I get a negative score?
CLAT has a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. If you guess randomly and get many wrong, it is mathematically possible to score negative, which will result in an extremely low rank.
