Irish University GPA Calculator
Whether you're on the UCD 4.2 scale, the UL QCA system, or a standard Honours classification system (Trinity, UCC, NUIG), calculate your exact GPA and US equivalent.
How Grading Works at Irish Universities
Unlike the US system where everyone uses a standard 4.0 scale, Irish universities employ three distinct systems depending on where you study:
1. Standard Honours
Used by Trinity, UCC, NUIG, DCU. Based purely on percentages converting directly into First Class, Second Upper (2:1), Second Lower (2:2), and Third Class boundaries.
2. The UCD 4.2 Scale
Unique to University College Dublin (UCD). This is a GPA system that caps at a maximum of 4.2 (for an A+).
