VMCAS GPA Calculator
Veterinary school admissions are brutal. The VMCAS application strips Math out of your Science GPA and heavily scrutinizes your "Last 45" credits. See exactly where you stand.
VMCAS Course Input
VMCAS Pro-Tip: Vet schools highly scrutinize your Biology and Chemistry grades. Because VMCAS removes Math from the Science GPA, pre-vet students with weak science grades can't use Calculus or Stats to artificially boost their Science GPA (unlike pre-med students).

Frequently Asked Questions
Does VMCAS include Math in the Science GPA?
No. Unlike the medical school application (AMCAS) which uses a BCPM (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math) GPA, the veterinary application (VMCAS) strictly separates Math into a different category. Your VMCAS Science GPA relies almost exclusively on Biology, Chemistry, and Physics courses.
What is the 'Last 45' GPA?
Many top veterinary schools (like UC Davis and Colorado State) specifically look at your 'Last 45 Credit GPA'. This shows them your most recent academic trends in upper-level sciences, which they often weigh more heavily than your freshman year grades.
How does VMCAS handle repeated courses?
VMCAS requires you to enter ALL attempts of a course. They do not honor 'Grade Forgiveness'. If you failed Biology and retook it for an A, both the F and the A are calculated into your VMCAS Science GPA.
Are plus/minus grades counted?
Yes. VMCAS standardizes all transcripts. An A- is calculated as a 3.7, and a B+ is a 3.3. However, an A+ is only awarded a 4.0 on the VMCAS scale, not a 4.33.
