What is the WARS (WedgeDawg Applicant Rating System)?
WARS is a holistic scoring system created by an admissions insider ('WedgeDawg') on the Student Doctor Network. Unlike the LizzyM score which only looks at GPA and MCAT, WARS assigns points to your research, clinical experience, volunteering, and leadership to give you a complete applicant profile.
How do I know if my research is 'High' or 'Medium'?
High (15 pts) usually requires multiple years of dedication, first-author publications, or prestigious fellowships. Medium (10 pts) means you have posters, presentations, or secondary authorship. Low (5 pts) is standard undergraduate lab assisting without major output.
What counts as 'High' Clinical Experience?
High clinical experience (10 pts) means you had significant patient responsibility, such as working as a Paramedic, EMT, RN, or years of dedicated scribing/CNA work. Medium (5 pts) is standard hospital volunteering or shadowing.
How does WARS determine which schools I should apply to?
WARS splits applicants into Tiers (S, A, B, C, D, E) based on total score. Each tier comes with a recommended 'school list distribution' (e.g., 5 reaches, 10 targets, 5 safeties) to maximize your chances of acceptance without wasting money.

E Level (Tier 6)

Statistically uncompetitive for MD. Focus heavily on DO schools, or consider an SMP/Post-bacc and MCAT retake.
