The Premature Celebration
You applied to an Australian university. A few weeks later, a beautiful PDF arrives in your inbox with the university crest, congratulating you on your offer.

Stop. Look at the top of the letter. Does it say Conditional Offer? If so, you have not actually been accepted yet.

The Timeline Danger
If you are waiting to take your English test to clear a condition, you are playing a dangerous game with the calendar. If your course starts in late February, and you take your IELTS in late January, the results might take two weeks to arrive. You submit them mid-February. The university takes a week to process them and issue the CoE. You lodge your visa with 5 days until classes start. The Department of Home Affairs takes 4 weeks to process the visa.
You miss the start of the semester and are forced to defer for 6 months.
