How OLSAS Calculates GPA
OLSAS converts all your undergraduate marks to a standard 4.0 scale using the OUAC grade conversion table (which is the exact same mathematical conversion scale as OMSAS uses for medical schools).
However, law schools look at your grades differently than medical schools.
- CGPA vs B2/L2: While your Cumulative GPA (CGPA) includes all undergraduate courses, many Ontario law schools focus heavily on your Best 2 Years (B2) or Last 2 Years (L2) of full-time study.
- Repeated Courses: Most Ontario law schools (like Osgoode) will only take the highest grade if you retake a course, or average them out.
- Holistic Review: Law admissions rely heavily on the LSAT and your personal statement, alongside your OLSAS GPA.
