Understanding ROTC Academic Standards
The Department of Defense uses your GPA as a primary indicator of your discipline and ability to handle the rigorous academic load of college while completing military training.
Army ROTC
Minimum: 2.5 GPA
The largest ROTC branch. Focuses heavily on the Scholar-Athlete-Leader (SAL) model.
Navy ROTC
Minimum: 2.75 GPA
Highly competitive. Strongly prefers applicants taking Calculus and Calculus-based Physics.
Air Force ROTC
Minimum: 3.0 GPA
Requires the highest minimum GPA. Heavily weights technical and engineering majors.
